There are several key characteristics which separate our boutique glamping Yurt District, from other lodging options:
Our Yurt District is a smaller more personalized glamping experience. Yurt District provides for intimate glamping options, while not excluding well sized groups. Our five riverside Yurts accommodate anywhere from 10 to 15 people and the unique HillTop Yurt is ideal for up to two guests. Our smaller size means we can focus on all our customers and make sure your experience is as best as it can be.
Our boutique glamping Yurts are one-of-a-kind and display our unique personality. Yurts are locally, independently owned and each have their own special charm. As with our Yurts, our clients are unique characters and we appeal to guests who shy away from mass tourism and business hotels.
A Mongolian yurt (Ger) is the most flexible and beautiful design of tent made by man to date. Today, more than half of Mongolians live in gers. There are two key components to a yurt; the wooden framework, and its various natural material covers. The Yurt is durable, strong in high winds and it can be heated with a heater placed inside it. By lining the inside with insulation material, it can become a comfortable shelter in winter as well as in summer. Our yurt’s have 5 panels, their diameter is 6 meters and they are manufactured by hand in Mongolia, UlaanBator. The quality is guaranteed by the original Nomad from Gobi Desert.
We have an arctic vibe and a modern spirit. Our décor is modern and local featuring our own version of Scandinavian/Lappish style. We have a rich local vibe, with spirited ambiance to suit our stunning location. Yurt District conveys a strong sense of place and pride in the heritage of our location.
From our lodging options you can choose whether you want to stay in a Yurt in wilderness with amazing forest hill view or our cosy Yurt district next to the Ounasjoki river. If you like your Yurt’s decorations you can buy them to take home with you. As each Yurt has unique decorations, each Yurt has a price list of the items within for your buying pleasure.

This is a unique possibility to sleep next to the beautiful River view at the Arctic Circle . The cozy and warm Yurt is located 25km from Rovaniemi centrum, and is right next to a big river. Yurt is decorated with beautiful Scandinavian elements and it is warm even when the weather is cold outside. This is a place for thinking, relaxing and enjoying pure and simple things. We think this is something everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime!
Yurts have glass roofs, so you can see the stars and northern lights relaxing in the bed. Next to the yurts, we have a nice outdoor open fire grill where some food can be grilled. Open fire place is also perfect for stargazing and looking for northern lights.
For your comfort, there is a new shower and toilet block near the Yurts. A Finnish wood heated Sauna can be heated for the evening by request. There is extra charge for Sauna.

This is a unique possibility to sleep in the middle of Arctic Circle wilderness. The cozy and warm Yurt is located 25km from Rovaniemi centrum, and is on the top of the forest hill. Place is quiet and surrounded with beautiful nature. There is no road to the forest hill, so we will take you there with ATV or Snowmobile and help you to get comfortable. There is no shower or toilet available, so you truly are in the middle of wilderness. Phone and wifi are available, so if you feel too quiet or alone, you can get contact to outer world. Yurt is decorated with beautiful Scandinavian elements and it is warm even the weather is cold outside. This is a place for thinking and relaxing and enjoying pure and simple things. We think this is something everyone should experiment at least once in a lifetime!
If you want to experience Finnish wooden sauna, it can be arranged for extra price. Sauna is located 5km from the Yurt and travel is done with snowmobile or ATV. Travel price is included to the Sauna price.
